How to play

Chess 3D is the same free two-player chess experience with a cinematic 3D table view on the Main screen. Host on a TV or computer, start a Chess 3D room, and invite two players from their phones via QR code or room code. Players take turns from their devices while everyone watches pieces move on the shared 3D board. Rules match classic chess: develop pieces, control the center, castle when ready, and aim for checkmate. The 3D presentation makes game night feel closer to sitting around a physical set — ideal when the TV is the centerpiece of the room. No download is required; everything runs in the browser. Use it for casual matches, teaching kids the game, or a quick rematch while the board stays visible to the whole group. Remote friends can also join over HTTPS if they have the room code, so the same setup works for local living-room play or a short online match.

What you need

A Main screen device that can run a modern browser (TV, laptop, or PC) and two phones for the players. Internet or local network access; no dedicated gamepad or app install.

FAQ

How is Chess 3D different from Chess?

Gameplay and player count are the same (two players). Chess 3D renders the board as a 3D table on the Main screen for a more immersive shared view.

Can more than two people join?

Only two players move pieces. Others can watch the Main screen without joining as extra seats.

Do phones need a special app?

No. Players open CastPlayTV in the phone browser, scan the QR code or enter the room code, and play from there.
