Play CastPlayTV Online with Player with Own Screen

Player with own screen is CastPlayTV’s answer to “our friends are not on the couch.” The shared board and your controls run on one device so remote players do not need a TV plus a phone.

Free online multiplayer in the browser — share a room code, no download.

Two play modes, one platform

Living-room mode: one Main screen (often a Smart TV) shows the shared board; each player uses a phone as a controller. This is best when everyone can see the same TV.

Own-screen mode: each remote player gets the board and controls on their phone, tablet, or computer. Use it when people are in different homes or when a player only has one device.

You can mix contexts across a friend group depending on the game: couch players on Main screen + phones, remote players on own-screen where supported — always verify the title’s options on its game page.

How to start an own-screen room

  1. Open the Player path On your phone, tablet, or computer go to castplaytv.com and choose Player (or open /play).
  2. Choose own-screen where offered Select Player with own screen when creating or joining a supported game so the board appears on your device.
  3. Share the room code Send the code as text. Friends join from their own devices. You do not need to stream your screen to them.

Remote play etiquette that prevents rage-quits

Agree who recreates the room if someone drops. Paste the new code in chat immediately. Keep a backup voice call for table talk — especially for Monopoly trades and DoodleDash hints arguments.

Latency varies by home internet. Turn-based titles tolerate spikes better than twitch racing. Pick the genre for the network you have.

Still want a TV in one house?

Yes. One household can still put Main screen on the TV for local players while explaining own-screen to remote friends on supported games. Read the Smart TV guide for living-room setup and the host checklist for pacing a mixed night.
